Welcome to SAME

Student Advocacy Made Easy.

The transition from high school to college can be difficult. For students with disabilities, this transition can be even more difficult with their IEP and 504 plans no longer being valid documents to use for accommodations. Changes in routine, familiarity with staff and faculty, and adjustment to being an adult add to the complexity. Students with disabilities are expected to be able to advocate for themselves and need to be able to find the people who can help them get the accommodations they need. But this can be hard to find.

SAME is a new kind of resource created for students with disabilities. Unlike other websites, SAME includes more than just articles that identify the problem with no real solution. Here you will find things like practical resources, community, and educational materials. This is all in hopes of setting students with disabilities up for success. We are aware of the problem and we needed something that addresses it. This was all done in hopes to increase the success rate for students with disabilities in college. Because we deserve the same.
